Pokemon Company Blasts iPhone Game Scammers

Nintendo developer The Pokemon Company has spoken out in the wake of an iPhone game scam which fooled thousands of gamers into downloading a broken version of Game Boy classic Pokemon Yellow. The 69p rip-off was uploaded by a third-party scammer and reportedly crashed as soon as users tried to load the game.

Rumour: Apple Planning App Store Redesign Later This Year

Apple is preparing an overhaul of the App Store and iTunes Store, with the aim of making the digital storefronts simpler and more user friendly. At least, that's the rumour from 9to5 Mac, which says Apple hopes to improve the speed and efficiency of finding new content - good news for both developers and customers.

Sony Explains Why You Can't Transfer UMDs to Your Vita

As reported earlier this month, a program in Japan that lets users download digital versions of their PSP UMD games to the Vita won't be offered in the US or Europe. Why? Nintendo Reviving Other Publishers' Properties for 3DS, Including Seaman

There are reports again that Yoot Saito is working on a portable version of Sega's Seaman - the virtual pet-raising sim series in which your pet is a fish with a human face - for 3DS. The project is part of a new initiative by Nintendo to revive other publishers' properties for 3DS to strengthen the system's catalog, according to a Nikkei report translated by Andriasang.

App Store Shoppers Complain of Scam Pokemon App

A fraudulent version of the Game Boy Color classic Pokemon Yellow has somehow made it through Apple's approval gauntlet and wound up on the App Store. Published by "Home of Anime" with Daniel Burford listed as the author, the "game" runs for $0.99 and has a one-and-a-half star rating after 1,352 reviews.

HTC Rumoured to Be Working on PlayStation Certified Handsets for Mid 2012

Though currently limited to Xperia handsets, Sony tablets and PS Vita, it appears the PlayStation Certified tag - the license manufacturers need to tap into PlayStation Suite - is about to branch out. Talk suggests Taiwanese giant HTC will announce PlayStation Suite support at the fast approaching Mobile World Congress, due to take place in Barcelona at the end of February.
